do they have good and happy lives? are they more sussepible to illnesses? do they tire easily? any problem you have experienced i would like to hear about. thanks

If the disease is caught early, it can often be managed for some time and the dog can have a good quality of life. On the other hand, it's going to catch up with him or her eventually.

I would follow the vet's advice regarding management and see how the pet responds. Every pet is different, and many pets with liver problems experience lots of trips to the vet and hospital stays. When you feel your dog is no longer happy and the treatment is no longer effective at managing the disease, euthanasia should be considered.

I've never had a dog with liver problems, but I've had a cat with them and I work in an animal hospital and see lots of other people and their pets dealing with liver disease. I've always been sort of sad about my own cat. I did everything I could for her, but in the end I felt I let her linger on too long and that she suffered too much. Don't feel like a bad person if the time comes to consider euthanisa. It's a kind thing to do.
