How to repair Linux Root?

I install yahoo messenger in my Linux SUSE. it was working well but as i reboot my system i could not login in root again. please tell me how to loging into root

su- is the line command I use from the admin level.

you shouldnt use root for everything, use a different acocunt for stuff like that root is very important to linux
create a new accoutn and use that
i use ubuntu ;P
