I don't know what made you ask this question, there could possibly be counter questions: How to avoid our elders from stopping us settle abroad? or How to avoid our elders from meddling in our (life's) affairs?
I believe that our youngsters are not our personal property/right to rule over them. Even they do have their own lives, dreams and aspirations to be somewhere. There are thousands of other options to serve and look after elders, family, society and own country. Just by being in homeland, one just can't feel having discharged his/her responsibilities / obligations.
What we need to inculcate is the sense of responsibility, belongingness, love and dedication for family and homeland and the ability to make difference between good and bad. Even in the most advanced nations, people go abroad and settle there. We in India have many cases where foreigners have made this country as their homeland. Many of my acquaintances have travelled World over yet they never had the inclination to settle in other country inspite of huge temptations. Yet there are cases who migrated even illegally. Each of the individual has his / her own perspective for one's life and life-styles. Instead of tying down any youngster with our experience and notions, we should share experience and knowledge with them, and put in our sincere efforts to make them understand a good blend of practical, emotional, ethical, social and healthy life and finally leave it upto their prudence to shape their lives, wherever they feel good, after all it is going to be their lives to enjoy or suffer. Elders should contribute in the best possible way in the lives of youngsters minus imposing themselves.
Other views are welcome.

its a very personal choice, if someone wants to settle abroad. there maybe various reasons for doing so. they could be selfish reasons or even otherwise. its good to have a taste of everything, experience life in other countries along with your own. after that one can make a choice. its not wise to influence anyone, since each person has a different opinion & view about settling down in life wherever they may decide to.
if a person is getting some opportunity which is not available in their own country, they would definitely seek the preferred country. how can we curb the ambition of an individual. every person has the right to choose how to find happiness.
