Well I was beaten to a pulp the other night by my now ex boyfriend. I got a broken rib, fractured skull, and a broken toe along with a zillion bumps and bruises. He lied to the cops and told him that he lived there, and since some of this stuff was there they didn't believe me. I even have a roomate who said that he doesn't live there. I was arrested which was a shock to me because I was the one yelling for someone to help me and I called the cops, also the worse thing I have ever done was be tardy for class back in high school and I got detention for it. I am now afraid to call the cops, I would rather bleed to death than call them. I now have a lawyer and he is working on my case. Is there anyone out there who has gone through the samething or has any advice for me?

In response to your questions:
- He lied to the cops
- Nothing happened to him
- I didn't even know I was hurt when the cops so they didn't call the ambulance or take me to the hospital
- When I did start to feel pain they wouldn't get a nurse to check me
- This happened in northern cali
- Yes they arrested me the same day it happened and they didn't even get my whole story I was too shaken up to even talk and they tried to talk to me for about 10 min and they talked to him for 45 min.

if your roommate witnessed (pictures/videos would hellp) that he beat you, then use him/her for the trial
also go to the landlord/lady/person who is encharge of the area. ask him/her for the papers taht only you and your roommate live there to prove that your exboyfriend doesn't live there. Also, if you know your exboyfriend's parent's phone, call them up. to see if he lives there, what excuse he told them (when he was going to go to you)

Are you saying that the night that you were beaten is the same night you were arrested? You had a fractured skull, ribs, toe, bruises. The police obviously saw all of the injuries, and ignored them. You were able to prove that you lived there by showing mail addressed to you at that address, a lease, and a witness. The police ignored that to. Your ex-boyfriend had no injuries and could not prove that he lived there and they ignored that too.

All of that, and they arrested you.

Give us the complete story.
1. What were you arrested for?
2. Was your ex-boyfriend injured?
3. Was your ex-boyfriend arrested?
4. Did these two events, the beating and your arrest happen in the same event?
5. Did you get treated at a hospital?
6. Did the hospital staff report the injuries as mandated by law?
