I memorized the following poem for a school program over 50 years ago when I was in fourth grade and attending a two-room school. Strangely enough, I still remember it, but don't remember who wrote it. I am pretty sure it was in a book called The Best Loved Poems of the American People.
Twins
In face and feature, form and limb,
I grew so like my brother.
That folks got taking me for him,
And each for one another.
It puzzled all our kith and kin,
And reached an awful pitch
That one of us was born a twin,
But not a soul knew which.
One day to make the matters worse,
Before our names were fixed.
As we were being washed by nurse,
We got completely mixed.
The fateful likeness even dodged,
My footsteps when at school.
And I was always getting flogged,
For John turned out a fool.
The close resemblance turned the tide
Of my domestic life.
And somehow my intended bride,
Became my brother's wife.
In short year after, year the same,
Absurd mistakes went on.
And when I died, the neighbors came,
And buried brother John.

How Doth the Little Crocodile
by Lewis Carroll
How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!
How cheerfully he seems to grin
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in,
With gently smiling jaws!

I smile a smile that which cannot be seen
Nor does your eyes see nor your ears hear my laughter...
But I do smile
I do smile because of you...
But I know that soon you are going away
soon you shall leave thy side
there is but no meaning
to tell you this
But yes I do smile
All this years,
alll this time,
I have been smiling for you...
