I met a really sweet gentleman (or that's what I'm thinking at this point) and I like him a lot. We have some things in common. I'm a little afraid to take him seriously (relationship-wise). Should I take a chance and believe that he really doesn't have a problem with me being older?

Seven years is not a large seperation. If he is mature and honest, you should have no problems. In another 10 years the gap will seem even less than it does now.
My great grandparents were 17 years apart. I have a cousin that is 20 years older than his wife and they have been married for over 20 years. Love doesn't worry about a date on the calendar.

Give it a go! He wouldnt be showing interest in you if he thought you were too old, and besides, its not that big an age gap in my opinion. The reverse happens all of the time (older man/younger woman) and I dont know why there is such a stigma attached to the reverse.

The only real problem would be that you may find him slightly immature, however I do not know the man so I cannot make that judgement.

Just tread carefully and at least give it a few weeks to see how you feel. Its not age that makes you fall in love with someone. Mate - I would be stoked to be 35 and having a 28 year old show interest in me! Embrace it for sure.

I can tell you from experience that more and more young men in their mid 20's are looking for a woman in your age group the reason being is that girls his age only have a few things in mind and that's "where are you going to take me tonight..what are you going to buy me...let's go party..let's get a cat...let go out to eat" and guys who are responsible don't want to work all day just to spend their days pay every night pleasing some girl by purchasing new clothes for her..guys want a more secure woman who they can have a converstion with ..I am a perfect example of this..i used to go out with girls either my age or a few years younger ..till i met the love of my life..she is 6 years older than i am and we started going out when i was 22..she is my best friend ..we never fight .oh we do have difference in opinions but we talk about them but never fight and call each other names or act like children..we have been together for 15 years now and i have never thought for one minute to ever leave her..so good luck my dear..and enjoy the time you have together.

Depends on where you met him (at a bar or club...no!) and if he's got his act together. Does he live at home with mom? Does he have a job? Kids? He might be ready to settle down. That's hard to tell. If he's trying to move really quick and telling you things that he thinks you want to hear, no, it's time to move on. If he's mature and you get a good vibe from him, go for it. Age does matter sometimes but, if he's got himself together and he's mature, it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

If you're ready to put your heart out there you should be ready for all the consequences along with its pleasures. After all, love knows no boundaries.

My mom is 48 and my stepdad is 32. Sixteen years difference, and they just celebrated their 10th anniversary.

I'd take it seriously.

Only you can decide that, I don't know much at all about your situation but just make sure you stick with your gut feeling - if it feels right..go for it!

Age doesn't matter when it comes to love. Only maturity does.

Get to know him and follow your heart...

Too many people who have had the perfect marriage are often heard saying, ...

"But, Your Honor, had I known...!"
