I am on xanax for anxiety. Tonight I have a sever flu. Can I mix xanax with Nightquil that has a sleep aid in it? Will it compound the affect? Thanks!

If you can bypass the xanax and just take the nightquil you should be okay, if you do both you will intesify the effect of the xanax. While you have the flu, just take the xanax in the morning and the nightquill at night. Hope you feel better soon.

I've been on xanax for a while as well and for some reason NyQuil makes it worse. But, considering both are sedatives, all it will do is increase the sedative effect of both drugs.

You can always call the 24 hour pharmacy just to be sure. I think it's fine though. You may have a hangover type feeling when you wake up and just want to sleep all day tomorrow, but it wont hurt you or anything.

I think you'll be fine mixing them. I've done it many times.
