All truths are essentially based on faith. Some truths require less faith than others, but regardless faith is involved. As such I would say faith.

I don't believe happiness is based on either one. However the two have a relationship. I would choose 'seeking' truth. Truth is always unfolding as we grow our vision widens, it is infinate possibilities. Faith when blind or dogmatic has only a narrow vision. Faith that the truth will unfold as we grow and learn is a bird in the sky that never needs to die.

Absolute faith can be misplaced and truth is phylisophically subjective. What do you mean by truth? If you are comparing a fairy tale to reality, which reality and which fairy tale? The situation and the individuals influence the outcome.

Sigh I will go with my first instinct. Truth. I want my life to be as real as possible.

Truth is subject to our current level of knowledge. Living with inferior information will lead to the failure of our civilizations.

Like for instances Christian will not really do anything to save this world because faith has taught them dying is better. So faith driven people will let us all parish because they think the after life is the end result. They feel helpless to change current events because they feel the prophecies of the bible are etched in stone. This is what our government is hoping. It will be like leading sheep to the slaughter.

Truth should always be an ongoing pursuit. You have to look everywhere to discover real truth other wise you get stuck in illusions or delusions. There is no happiness living in the wrong identified information deemed truth.

In order to realise the truth, you must have faith but not blind faith. You cannot be happy with a faith that reminds you of how tormenting it is if you were to give it up.

Every one of us are given a choice, a sense of freedom to seek out the truth. However, some group of people are creating a lot of dogmatism and forcing us to believe solely to their devotion without proper understanding.

Proper and right understanding comes from the right guidance and source, therefore, one must have faith at first in order to learn. When knowledge has become a source of what had been seen and experienced, it becomes understanding and thus, lead to realisation and seeing the TRUTH.

By realising the TRUTH, one realises ultimate happiness, real happiness beyond words.

Faith and Truth goes a long, for some reason, but in others, it won't simply because faith alone without effort will not bring one to realise the truth. Seeking happiness from Truth alone without Faith is like seeking for answer without confidence.

I think faith is more valuable. Truth is only true according to the person you heard it from. Science is the basis for truth in most cases and science is always changing. Faith on the other hand is a determened belief. And you know what, putting faith in something and trying it usually proves it. So give faith a try and don't just believe, but put your faith to the test. Far better then any fact is faith proven true! Any way to really know a fact is true...we have to have faith in it....

I would say neither, because we humans cannot do either.
We are unable to be truthful to ourselves or others and Faith
we fall down on because we put our own interpretations to it.
The Bible has given ten commandments and we can't even keep one. The Koran or whatever has given certain rules and the faithful have decided that we will do it there way.
Other religions and sects also have rules and I Can guarantee they don't keep to all of them either. You may find a fanatical or two but they also go alittle overboard. Everyone has they own interpretation of what faith is.
So you tell me which one do you follow.???

I would like to say that I am faithful and truthful to my faith and others, but i also have a tendency to break them.
You take the good with the bad and hope to heaven you don't break to many rules. if you do your the one that suffers and it can sometimes hurt and not just yourself.

Religion always made me think of a book I read a while back: "Wizard's First Rule". The Wizard's First Rule is that people are stupid. Put enough truth in a lie, and they'll believe the lie, resisting the truth, calling it a lie, even when it's shown to them.

I'd rather have be unhappy and know the truth, than take something on faith and be happy. Unhappiness passes after a while, while ignorance is permanent.

When you follow Truth, that means you have got faith in Truth. When you say you have got faith, you are asserting a Truth only. Hence you may say that both are equal. By possessing one quality you exhibit the other virtue automatically. Outwardly there may seem to be some difference but actually that is not the case. nagarajan.
