Here is the State Department page on passport fees. It applies in all states: http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/fees/fees_837.html If you are applying for the first time, you must apply in person. You can download the application form on the same State Department site, and find out where there is a passport acceptance facility close to you (often a Post Office). Here's the State Dept page on applying for a passport: http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_830.html Be sure to apply early.... it's taking longer to receive your passport now due to the rules requiring passports for flying to Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean.

this ain't the post office

there are two separate fees and you also have to supply your own photos.
