Could anyone add more details to this in regards to religious meaning? An exact Lavey quote would be appreciated also.

They all involve the manipulation of energy. However, one is used for fairer, usually good purposes, and the other is for destruction and the like. Both are equally punished, however, in Christianity. * shrugs *

White magic is just magic that people have fluffed up, so it sounds better to the Christians. All spells are inherently the same, but intent is what differentiates them. The only religious significance in that is that LaVey saw beyond, "I want acceptance for what I practice, so I will call it white."

Whitelighters try to deny their true-ness and forget that they have baser natures.

Of course, I just say magic is magic. From nature magic, to Goetia [the one viewed as black magic], to Enochian.
