Dobies shed year round, but it's minimal. My dobie had significant hairloss around the age of 7 months due to food allergies. I ended up switching her to Wellness Simple Solutions venison and rice and her hair finally started growing back and now it's nice and thick again. I also supplement her food with 4 1000mg Fish Oil pills daily along with Brewers yeast/garlic tablets (7 for her since it's based on weight). She looks better than ever and her allergies are completely under control. If you think it's allergies try switching the dog food and cutting out all treats for 6 weeks to see if there are improvements. If there are improvements, then you know your dog has food allergies and you can begin the process (if you want to) of finding out exactly what the allergies are. My dog is allergic to poultry, beef, wheat, corn, egg products, 'animal byproduct', and several other things. Also some dobies have Alopecia, which is hairloss that can't be prevented or treated, it's genetic. It is more common in the dilutes (blues and faws/isabelllas). Also hairloss can be a sign of thyroid problems, so if your dog is slightly overweight, even though you feed it correctly and it gets exercised, you may want to have the vet test it for hypothyroidism. Vets can also do allergy tests, but there is no gaurantee they find anything or everything. Hope this was helpful.

NZYMES
If you are considering feeding NZYMES® because your pet sheds we want to assure you that they will be very helpful for your pet. However, shedding is a degenerative problem and can take between 30 to 90 days to start showing improvement (after all the skin is the largest organ of the
body).
In most shedding cases we see a 95% reduction in a pet's regular daily shedding after 4 to 5 months - even in the worst cases. Annual shedding is a normal metabolic process for almost all dogs. However, year-round shedding can be a sign of nutritional deficiencies, which allows the pet's immune system to become weakened. Most often the cause is poor quality pet foods, which are lacking the amino acids, vitamins and minerals or the nutritional ingredients needed to maintain good health.

It seems you are in India. If so let me answer onthe basis of the product available locally there. Hairfall (if abnormal) is due to lack of Omega Acids. Buy Rex or GlossyCoat from any vet and add 5-10 ml tot he feed ach day. Also add 1 tspn of sunflower oil . see the result in 30 days .

A good Salmon Oil supplement works well to keep the coat healthy.
I feed all my dogs, especially the ones breeding, this supplement along with a balanced diet of RAW and a Human Grade kibble (usually Solid Gold or Innova).

Does he have mange? Hair loss is usually the sign of a parasite. I would feed him a high quality dog food (like Nutro, Royal Canin, Solid Gold, Eagle Pack, Natural Balance, etc) and try to go with a lamb and rice version of the food. Lamb and rice help to promote a healthy skin and coat.
That and I would take him to the vet to make sure he doesn't have any kind of other parasite.
Good luck!

It's likely the time of year, the heating in your home etc. Brush him, and give him Omega 3 oils.. Feed him a good dog food, not high in protein, and avoid foods with corn in them.

Yes, a good quality food is important for your dog's health, but dogs on good diets shed, too!
Outdoor dogs tend to shed according to season, but indoor dogs don't have those cues from nature and shed year round as a result.
