This isn't that surprising. If you are what would be called "African-American" then you are likely a mix of African, Native American, and European ancestry, to varying degrees - if it's in the genetic mix, it can appear in any one individual. The same thing is fairly common in Hispanic families (which I suppose you would also be if your grandmother is Arawak) where you have the same mixes - tri-racial, to be accurate.
Obviously, the appearance of your children would depend also on their father's background, but it would be expected that they might share some of your physical characteristics.

Maybe. I am half Ojibwe. And I have 1 sister and 3 brothers and I am the only one that looks like a white girl.I have black hair and olive complected skin but that's it,my youngest brother actually looks full blooded native american and has the whitest dad on the planet. So good luck with that.but I think any color is beautiful, does it really matter in the end?!

in are history are family's come from many places and we only have so much information . you are what is called a throwback in history. I too am a throw back . my great grandmother was a half breed half Irish and she had two children my grand mother who was strawberry haired and white as white can be . her brother was as native as you can get. my Father was a White as White can be as well being her son . and my Father married my mother and she had a percentage of Sikh Indian in her . all my siblings 2 girls and three boys are as White as wight as can be and I was . as native as you can get . and also told I looked a spiting image of my Sikh 3 great grand mother. I married a Greek man and have Four children . not one of them look Greek or native . but they are extremely beautiful and intelligent . so no matte what you will love them and they will love you. . look at how far back you resemble how long it took to come back in your genealogy and that will tell you if your children will .

Hey, sometimes someone is a throwback from genes a few generations ago.
Kinda lame to compare to humans but...
My sister had to cats, both short haired, that ended up having several kittens. Just about all of them were short haired, except one that turned out a long haired cat and no idea where that came from, but it happens. : )

The white guy killed off most of the community human beings. They married many who were left. My grand mom being one. So we are more suitable mixed than the classic Mexican. The Spaniards being more suitable tolerant married the Indians in that area of north u . s .. Then there is the various fetchers of the various international locations. The Cherokee wore turbans and some even sported a small goatees. thanks for that reliable question reliable success.

genetic features can go way back to a great grandfather and suddenly appear again in offspring.
in fact it is more likely to jump a few generations ,than follow straight after,
