"What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet."
-excerpt from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet
"Not if they were called 'stink blossoms'"
-Bart Simpson
My point is, I don't care what you smell like, its all about what your name is.

I don't really like it. well, thats just my opinion. I like similar names though, such as Melissa and Marissa. For some weird reason i don't like the 'lanie 'part of Melanie. But others may find it a beautiful name.

Do you have a brand new pair of roller skates? Seriously, I think it's a wonderfully poetic name. It flows from the lips like a melody.
