I think it is very responsible of you to want to earn some money because you know that that is what is needed to have a dog. More people need to remember this when purchasing one. Honey don't take anyone here to heart i think the pets site is the rudest of the lot. I have been in other Q&A forums and they are no where near as rude as what they are in this one.
I am sure peole are just trying to protect animals but i agree there is no reason to be so damn rude about it.
PS. This is to aces. Dont think everyone in here is from the USA there are other countries apart form yours that usues this website. I am in Australia and it is only 4.15pm in the afternoon!!
You go and earn your pet sweet heart and dont listen to these morons in here.

First off, I did read the page you linked to, at least your postings.
Personally, I do not have a problem with children being on pet/animal sites. Yes, to me you are a child. To you, I am, at 52, an old granny type lady. What does bother me, is how difficult it can be to read your posts. It is very common for people to use abbreviations when posting online, especially younger people. The problem is that web-speak is moving into real life as well. There are studies being done relating to this because it is becoming a real problem in schools. The interesting thing is that most of the time the students do not even realize that it is happening until it is pointed out to them. Why does this matter? Because language is complex, and abbreviations can change the intent of the message. What you intend to be funny comes across as mean, or stupid, or just plain nonsense, as in unreadable. One of the best ways to be taken seriously is to try to communicate in real english, not web-speak. It tells people that you care about being understood, that you take what you are talking about seriously. Also, when you apply for a job, if you unconsciously use web-speak on the application, you will not be hired for a job that you may really want and may be the perfect person for the position. If that happens, you have cheated yourself out of a good job, and the employer loses out on a great employee. Using correct spelling, correct english, tells people that you are mature enough to understand that communication is important. That you want to be understood correctly, and that you do not want to unintentionally insult someone, or to give the wrong answer due to improper spelling, or even improper grammer. There is at least one famous lawsuit that resulted over the lack of a comma. It was a will. When detailing how much money each surviving child (all adults) were to receive, the will said something along the lines of, "child A, B and C are to get equal shares". Can you see the problem? Child A said that because of the way it was written, child A was to get 50% of the the money, and that children B and C were to split the remaining 50%. The argument was made that if each child were to have gotten one third of the money the will should have been thus: "child A, B, and C are to get equal shares". One little comma. The contestation of the will lasted for years. I don't even know who won, but I do believe that child A did.
Language is complex.
Communicating is serious.

Generally I do not have a problem with any young person using the internet provided they use their manners, keep to the sites that have appropriate content, avoid giving out their contact information, are mature enough to know better than to agree to meet someone they met on the internet, and have their parents' permission. That said, if you want people to respect you on this site, you should stick to the rules. This question is not appropriate to this category. You need to act like the young adult that you are and just ignore people instead of being baited into a pointless arguement. You more than likely will not change their minds no matter what and by doing this, you are only confirming their point that you are not mature enough to be here yet. I do not think that they were right in telling you to leave when you asked a perfectly legitimate question but you are not a child anymore and should not be baited so easily. Please just act like the young lady that you are. Twelve years old is plenty old enough to know when you should fight and when you should just hold your tongue.

So, you want to earn some money to buy a dog. Do you know what kind of dog you want? Will your parents allow you to have a dog? Do some research on the different breeds and then decide with your parents.
You could try to do some dog walking for people in your neighborhood, or even offer to brush neighbors dogs. If you are really interested in taking care of a dog, maybe you could offer a service to go to neighbors homes a few times a week and pick up dog poop. You should be able to charge a reasonable fee for the above services and you will also learn about the care and responsibilities when you are able to have your own dog.
Good luck to you! Be safe online sweetie!

No, these people have no business telling you if or if not you can come on this site.
I'm 14, which, if you think about it isn't much older then you at all, and I'm sure you know not to give out your adress, phone number, last name and so on, but I thought I'd remind you anyway. =)
Don't listen to those people.. In the end it's all up to you, they can't stop you from coming on here.
Edit: People, she's mature enough to earn her own money for a puppy so I think she's mature enough to be on the internet..

No, but I do think your parents should know what's up with you. You should also never give out any personal info online like your full name, your school's name, your relative's names, your address, etc. Even if you think the person you're talking to is young, it might be someone old and creepy, so be careful!

Your ok to use this site. I dont have a problem with it. You just have to stick with the same rules that any adult would have to follow, no abuse etc.
You are welcome to come ask questions anytime and good luck with the odd jobs and getting a dog.
I actually understand the abreiviations you use due to having teens myself (not all of them though) pmsl
