there are plenty types of clothes to made for all people, it's unrealistic that people are all shaped as such.

why r u tallies ...or extreme shorties taking such offense. and if you've taken biology, those two extremes are abnormal. but it doesn't mean ur a freak. it just means most people are average heights as such.

Are you saying that if a girl is over 5'5" or under 5'0" she's abnormal? Wow, thats a pretty harsh generalization don't you think...I'm 5'8" and the girls I was friends w/ in high school were my height or taller except one! The reason models are soo tall and lean is b/c the idea of a model is to be like a hanger or a manequin..clothes just look better on tall, lean women. It has nothing to do w/ real beauty. It's just an industry like any other...there are always certain requirements. In case you didn't know girls who are 5'5" can model commercial...so yeah.

I definitely agree. I'm 5'1 1/2. It's not that I want to be a model, but I do know tons of girls who want to model but they're shorter than 5'8. I just don't think it's fair to crush someone's dreams because of their height. Just like not everything is meant to fit a petite person, everything is not necessarily meant to fit a tall person. It depends on what it is, and I think there should be something for everybody in that area. It's not realistic to have girls who are all 5'10 on the runway, wearing things that a lot of girls who are 4'11 would wear as well. I don't think it's fair, but being an entertainer and designer, I'd be glad to break that barrier.

Considering that i am only like 4'11" but i am still growing just very slowly. All of my friends except like 2 are way taller than me and a couple are thinking about being models. I totally agree and it would be awesome for all the perfect shorter people out there who should totally be models. Not saying anything about tall people though, I just think it would be nice for short people to be models. You go girl!!

I kinda agree. Well Im not 5 feet but I am 4'11" lol I think it would be great for short people or average height people. And it is true ,u dont see a lot of really monstrously tall people walking around.

so does that make them not normal or something? cause they're taller? thats just how people want they're models, tall. most girls would never get hired unless they were tall enough.. there are lots of reasons for that.. they don't do it to put down short people.. thats just how it is.. kind of like how you have to have a good voice in order to be a profressional singer.. you following? i understand where you're coming from.. and that would be cool but lets just be honest with ourselves here.. and you never know maybe one day they will have a show like that.. just be patient if they have a show called "engaged and underage" i'm sure "america's 1st top "short" model"" is not completely out of the question!

Last time I checked 5'3 and under was short.

5ft4, 5'5 are not short. They are medium height.

Models are usually taller because the designer's like the long legs, long arms, long hands, long necks, broad shoulders, and lean torsos.

It is rare to see someone that is under 5 ft 3 have a lean proportional body, unless you are Kylie Minogue or Susanne Lucci.

Don't put down tall women because you are not tall.
Would you like it if taller women talked negatively about short women and started demanding to take all jobs from short women?

if they did that every one could be a model. i'm tall a tall lady and a lot of the girls i know are tall. i guess it depends where you're from.
they probably think because the girls are tall they look more lean, more graceful, and are easier to see when walking the runway. that's my guess anyways.
i wouldn't mind a short model though, a lot of short girls are very pretty.
