I found out she is only 17...?

this girl started conversation with me at the shops, after seeing her a few times and making eye contact.
i was interested to be honest..
we struck up conversations a few times and i learnt she is only 17, i am 28.. after learning her age, i became much more careful about what messages i give out, i dont want her getting the wrong idea,

we have chatted about 4 times..

she continues to flirt and compliment me..she makes me feel really good actually..

i would never date someone that young or anything, but for some reason i keep thinking about her..

is this normal?

have any of you been in a situation like this?

I haven't been in that situation but i'm 16 with a 20 year old. And my father was with a 17 year old which I was very against seeing as he's 38. But the point of that is he could get charges pressed on him because of the furious mother so if you like her wait till she turns 18 and then go for her if you're both aware of eachothers ages. And it's proven girls mature much quicker than guys do.

All I know is that situation really stinks.......had the experience my self. Not quite the same thing but I met this girl at a college party (I'm 22 at the time) and I found out later this girl was 16 (almost 17 in my defence). Smokin' hot (I mean damn this girl put the college hunnies to shame), fun to hang around, and way underage.

My advice is to wait until she's 18 or cut her loose, its not worth the trouble.

Remember, god gave men two heads and only enough blood to think with one, make sure its the right one!

she is so close to being of age that if you remain on the up and up in your relationship and don't sleep with her until she is of age then i see nothing wrong with your relationship. and i am a 31 year old mother. think about it, if she were already 18, no one would care that you are 28. and waiting until she is of age will build your relationship on other things besides sex. more people should do the same thing and maybe couples would stay together longer, cause if you have to get to know each other before having sex, you would know if you really like them instead of finding out later it was only the sex you liked!!

Age is only a number, and sadly most states recognize a 17 year old as an adult who can make their own decisions such as giving consent (age of majority). This age should be raised to 18! It's probably legal where you are since most states are 17, but be careful or you will have Dateline after you. If she is legal I don't see a problem if you both like each other.

Whether normal (I think you're asking if it's common, though, not 'normal') or not, you have to treat her compliments to you no different than if an 8 yr old complimented you. You cannot get 'absorbed' by what she says. Meanwhile, you should be asking yourself if the real issue for you is, you're not getting enough attention among adult women and peers. THAT'S where you should be focusing your priorities on. But, as the saying goes, the first thing you must do whenever you dig yourself a hole (dealing with an underaged girl) is to stop digging!

I would be careful with the situation until she is of age, I suppose it is fine to be friends but be VERY honest if she asks you anything sexually (say that you are not comfortable talking about it and would not like to get involved).

It is normal to be interested in people that are nice to you and flirt with you, especially if are already interested back.

Like I said, I would be VERY careful and not send any mix messages.

I'm not a guy so I haven't been in this situation however, I've been a 17 year old girl and trust me...we can be quite charming when we want to be.

You are the adult. She still throws temper tantrums and is a minor. Don't give her any signals at all. A 17 year old may look like a grown woman but she's not. Don't go there.

Yes it normal, but you know how old this young lady is , and every body like to be told nice things and if you keep this up you may forget how old she is, and something happen that you will be sorry for, so just take what she said as a pleasure and nip it in the bug right now, be for you regret what's next.

I've never been in that situation but I'd think it's normal. Why would you never date her if your interested? Lots of people date people years younger. It's not like she's 14 or 15. When my sister was 17 she married a man 12 years older and their getting ready to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
