First of all, it is winter and our indoor environments are very dry, try a humidifier. There are some models that work like a thermostat and shut off when humidity has reached an appropriate level and others that just run continuously.
Try using a cleanser/soap that doesn't contain alcohol, like Cetaphil. Also, try baby oil, apply immeadiately after shower or bath without drying off. It takes a few minutes for your skin to absorb but it is well worth it. And don't scrub your skin excessively while bathing either, it will cause more bad than good. I have had alligator hide, as my mother so affectionally called it, since birth, so I've tried EVERYTHING!
Also, try to find moisturizers without alcohol, which actually further dry out your skin, good luck it's hard to find, but some specialty shops or natural food and product stores might carry these type of products. Ever notice how some lotions make your skin tingle or burn? That's the alcohol, unless of course the product contains menthol.
And one more suggestion for a moisturizer, try petroleum jelly, not the yucky waxy looking kind, but the creamy. It is usually sold at places like cvs, rite aid, walgreens and/or walmart. This creamy type is so thick that you will be greasy after slathering it on, so take it easy, a little goes a long way!
Oh the things we have to do to be beautiful!
Hope I've helped you and if all else fails go see a dermatologist, there may be something else going on.

This sounds like a clear cut case of an alergic reaction to something
And, it very well may be something that you have ingested or breathed in as opposed to a "skin thing" --- the symptoms of the skin itching terribly could be the nerves reacting to other stimuli --- First off--- take an appropriate dose of benadryl -- give it an hour or so to work and if you are not getting relief-- go to the doctor--- this could be something that can bring other things with it if left untreated--- and you've already complicated matters by actually breaking skin !!!

Don't put anything except regular calamine lotion until you've checked with a dermatologist. Your itchiness could be caused by different things and if you apply the wrong medicine, it could worsen. You might have an allergy from something you recently ate or maybe it could be caused by skin asthma or your skin is too dry. You might even have eczema or psoriasis. Check it out with the doctor first to get proper help.
