People often take the book of Rev. as a literal end of the world when in actuality it may have nothing to do with the end times at all. Being Catholic we never really mention the end of days because no one knows when it will be so there is no reason to dwell on it.
Aside from that i heard an interesting interpretation from a Catholic author once about Johns Revelation. You see back then communication between people could be very dangerous due to the Romans so they would write in a sort of code. And surprisingly enough when this author (I believe it was Scott Hahn) picked apart Revelation he noted that there was a lot of similarities between Revelations and the Catholic Mass. So therefore he believed it to be a way to communicate with people on how the mass should be performed and by putting it in this chaotic form the Romans would not pick up on it and destroy it.

Yes, I feel I somewhat understand the book.
I interpret it based on the fact that it is God communicating to man through written literature on how the world is going to end. So both figuratively and literally.
They will all come pass. The tribulation, the return of Christ, Armageddon, the millennium, and the end of the evil and sin.
It could happen before I die, but it also might not. I am not afraid of death.
Yes, people have been saying this for centuries. The only reason why there is more credibility now to Jesus' return being soon, is that Israel has its land again, like the Bible said it would.

I used to be afraid of the Book of Revelations. Don't be! It was written in the First Century AD when Christians were persecuted by the Romans. They only way they could relay messages is through cryptic writing, and as a result came The Book of Revelations. Lots of people also consider 666 to have something to do with the devil, but originally it was the numbered code for the Roman Emperor Nero.

I was afraid to read the ' Book of Revealation ' because all I ever heard was that it was full of doom and gloom. One day I decided to read it anyway. --- I will answer the 1st question in a moment...Q2) I think John described the events and things he saw the best he could. ( How strange looking was the ark that Noah built to all those around him and what crazy purpose could it have?) understood or not, it was Needed and it Happened! .... Q3) I am not sure if some of the ' events' have come to pass or not..... Q 4 & 5) No One knows the exact time of the second coming of Jesus, only God. No individual knows when he/she is going to die. No one needs to be afraid of death, the key here is having a Relationship with Jesus. Talking to Him like He is your best friend, because He Is!..... Back to Q1) I do not see doom and gloom is this book. I see the love of God! He is not willing that any shall perish, these plaques and horrible happenings are to those who are stubborn, hard-hearted and refuse to acknowledge Him or their need of a Savior. With each ' happening', I see Him literally crying out : " Now will you believe? Now will you repent of your wicked ways and let me cleanse you so you can live with Me forever?!"

Yes the events are definitely coming to pass.
Rumors of wars, rise from the euphrates, and so on.
When I was Deployed in Iraq in 2003, we hear so much things that was Bible related.
There were times I was not afraid of death because I was strong in my Christianity, but I fell off over the years, and trying to get back on track.
Nobody knows when the Rapture will take place. But the fact of the matter is if your life is right with God you will not fear death and the book of Revelation is a book you will not have to worry about reading in your life.

It is much like the Old Testament Prophet books... like Isaiah, Daniel or Ezekiel - those books foretold the Messiah and other events - and it was not always perfectly clear but always accurate (does that make sense?) - but that is how God works.
He will not give us direct blow-by-blow accounts because that interferes with faith and who he is and who we are - but he does give us a glimpse and is always accurate - as the Old Testament prophets were.
The Book is Revelation is greatly discussed and interpreted - as it should be - but good arguments can be made on more than one interpretation of the Book.
But I think what matters most is that no one knows the time and the exact way the endtimes will be carried out, and that is God's will. We can, however, trust in his love and the truth of what he has told us.

You might want to narrow your question to specific prophecies in Revelation. You just asked hundreds of people to write you book each.
Most prophecies are fullfilled & some are coming to pas now and some in the near future.
I think there's a good chance that Jesus' 2nd coming will be before I die. But there's also going to be a lot of persecution - I don't see where the Bible says we will be raptured out before persecution so I might be dead. I'll leave that in God's hands, He knows what's best.
How long is a century in God's eyes. Basically we are to be on our toes for we never know when the last will be for us. And the last days are coming. He's drawing them out so none need be lost. I'm glad He waited for me, I wasn't with the right group so long ago.

I consider you. There are some preachers who say that the e book of Revelation isn't even meant for the tip circumstances. It grew to become into written for issues that have been occurring then. all of us decide to understand what is going to ensue yet I in basic terms preserve on the instant. regardless of and every time it happens, end of international and so on isn't in all and sundry's administration. It does no sturdy to agonize approximately it, or are watching for it or plan for it. Even Christ quoted the previous testomony while He grew to become into on the go. human beings don't understand that he grew to become into no longer saying that God had forsaken Him, he grew to become into quoting Palsms the place it grew to become into prophesied. That differences many stuff that folk have self assurance. i'm specific there are different passages to which that prepare. thank you for that education.

Revelation refers to the Romans. That's it. It says not to get the Roman mark. It's all blown out of proportion now, and totally misunderstood.
"Sometimes people are surprised that when they actually read the Book of Revelation of what's not there. Things that are typically associated with end time prophecies and typical language actually is not found in Revelation at all. ... Notably there's no reference whatsoever to the Antichrist. That terminology only shows up in two places in the entire New Testament. One time in First John and one time in the Second John, but not in the Book of Revelation itself. The other terminology that [is] sometimes thought to be in Revelation is the Rapture, that is, the snatching away of Christians just at the last moment before the Tribulation occurs. That, likewise, is not actually in the Book of Revelation itself, that actually comes from a passage in First Thessalonians. And so what we have to realize is that in some interpretations of the Book of Revelation--in fact most of them--the interpretation is created by bringing things into the Book of Revelation, into its scheme, that are not actually there and reading them as a kind of a jigsaw puzzle of eschatology and last judgment. Everyone thinks they are so special that the end times will occur during their life time.
How long have you heard Jesus is coming back soon?
I can pretty much guarantee that people have been saying that same thing for the last several hundred years and will probably say it for the next several hundred.
