Darlin - at his age, there could be many things that could have caused this - and not all of them are related to the cleaning agent he was using.
If he is already in the ER, then he is in good hands. They will be able to help stabilize him, hon. Be at peace.
I am a Christian, hon... so I pray this brings you solice:
(I believe that God hears us in our need.)
"'I have seen his ways, ... I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to his mourners, creating praise of the lips. Peace, peace to him that is far and to him that is near,' says the Lord, 'and I will heal him.'" Bible, book of Isaiah, chapter 57 verses 18-19
I know you are deeply alarmed, and I pray that your fear is comforted and that you hear about his condition soon. Please let us know how things turn out, dear one.
Peace to you. --De

The strong chemicals can cause nose bleeds and the blood from the nose can drain down the throat and come out the mouth....Im not an expert at all but I reallly hope that he and your family will be ok.

I'm not sure entirely, but strong cleaners could cause damage to sensitive nasal tissues. The person's age and general health play a large part in his obvious reaction to the fumes from the product he was using.
I'm sure he'll be just fine. In the future though he needs to work with such materials in better ventilated areas or wear a mask.

He could have used a cleaning solvent that is deemed a dangerous inhalation hazard, and could have caused ruptures in his Bronchi in his lungs and such in the many small vessels as well as in his sinus, and trachea, windpipe, etc.
Of course this could be a very serious event and hopefully the ER Trauma team can prevent further injury, but, lung trauma can be hard to heal. He will probably be in ICU for this, and need a lot of monitoring and is hard to treat.

He may have combined bleach and ammonia that stuff is deadly combined but if he was rushed to the ER they will definitely know what to do. he will get treated by flushing the chemicals from his system. I had a Friend who made that same mistake once and she is fine. You all did the right thing taking him to the emergency room. everything will turn out ok.

If the blood isn't popping out of the attention yet is staying interior the attention tissue, you may relax. it somewhat is in all probability basically a small hemorrhage which will ooze blood into the loose tissue surrounding the attention. This makes it seem plenty worse than it somewhat is. After some weeks it is going to grow to be absorbed, yet interior the period in-between the blood will discolor because it disintegrates.

I agree with the others but you can call the hospital and ask to speak to one of your family members so that they can feel you in on whats going on . Good luck: Blueladybug

the toxins from the cleaners probably got into his nose, and made it feel like it was burning, that would make his nose bleed. i don't know why he would bleed through his mouth unless he was drinking the stuff. wait to hear from your family and let us know how he is.
good luck.

Just the fumes got to his nerves and membranes - everything is weaker on old folks. Nothing to worry about. If hes at the hospital and they have him hooked up to a respirator and some new oxygen hell be fine.
