It's a little painful when they start the donation, but if you have a problem with pain or needles, don't look...just constrate on your breathing and focus on something else. Once the donation is started, you shouldn't feel alot of pain. Make sure you eat a good breakfast and follow their instructions for after care. Congrats and thank you for helping someone else out.

Good for you. They usually have you on a cot or reclining chair, then sterilize the spot on your are that they'll draw blood from, stick the needle in and secure it, and have you relax until the process is through. Do eat breakfast tomorrow morning. After you give they usually have drinks and snacks to give you. I hope that you have a pleasant experience.

It depends. Personally, I hate getting my blood taken because I always freak out and get light headed. However, it will probably be easier for you since you are a male. Just make sure to eat a little something before you go.

Take this very serious - if you don't like needles, blood, the thought of anything disgusting , OR because you've never done it before and you don't know what to expect, you may have a panic attack and you may faint. 1 simple solution = ask to be laid down when it happens. being on your back keeps the blood to your head, making it impossible to black out.

might sound drastic but will save one hell of a bad experience =)

It's fine. Make sure you eat the cookie and drink the juice. Last time I got a little woozy because I thought I didn't need it.
