High white blood cell counts can just be a regular old run of the mill infection on the no big deal end of the spectrum... - or it can be Leukemia (cancer) on the very bad side of the spectrum. Only a doctor can tell you what's going on. There are hundreds of possible reasons for the elevation...
You can even have raised white counts when you have an infected injury.
Be patient... let the doctors investigate.
Be at peace hon - and I hope you feel better.

It could mean some kind of infection to begin with, but, if this is happening all the time, it could be something more serious, like Leukaemia- cancer or the white blood cells where overproduction of these cells takes place. Bad allergies may also be indicated by too many of these cells attacking your body's regular cells too.

Any type of infection can cause WBC's to be high. It could be pneumonia, a urinary tract infection, an ear infection. WBC's are fighting cells so they go up when there is something to fight. They can get really high normal is up to 10,000 and they can get up to 18,000 with a simple infection. No need to worry about HIV/AIDS

High white blood cell counts don't cause any diseases. They are your bodies defense mechanism against diseases, so when you have some type of "foreign body" inside you, their counts will increase.

it just means there is something wrong with your system and you are more than likely sick. Could mean cancer just depending on how high it is. It could just be the flu too if the white count is high. I wouldnt be to concerned unless it doesnt go down or it keeps rising.
