Is it "right" to have sex before marriage - Biblically?

Thank you for your answers. It's amazing how many think sex is all about testing or driving a car!, and don't give a damn about God's commandments. Kathy A, the Bible isn't simply " a book'. Sex before Marriage is a sin.

The Bible says when they do sex usually "Their souls were interlaced" in others languages this "Were" means forever no like in English it could be a moment or forever. If you do it before of marriage he can kick you very easy and tell to everybody what you did with him. He is your boyfriend or fiance tomorrow he can not to be. However when you get marry isn't for anything you know what you are doing. For you go out of a marriage isn't sooo easy. Men are smart you should be smarter. They do everything to get what they want.

The Revelation 21:08 says:
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

the bible says that you are sappose to wait until your married.its o.k to fall in love and then later on down the road if "you"are ready.Giving your self to any one that wants you! is just not right no matter how you look at it.I have been with my husband for 12 years and every time fills like the first time!If you marry your soul mate you will be just fine.Just take your time and let mister right come to you.Good things slways come to those who patiently wait for it. I personally think you should wait till you are married to have sex. Because that way you are both ready to have that wonderful exsperience together. If i knew then every thing i know now! I would have waited till i was married. good luck on your disition.Follow your heart,And the good lord above you "will" be fine. god bless you sincerely faithfully ronnie`s

well the thing is that if u have sex before marriage then there are few things u have to make sure before doin it. be sure u are makin love and not havin sex! big difference between the two. why have sex with someone u dont intend to stay or live with. its like flashing urself naked for a person u wont end up loving and just having sex for the sake of lust!
so in my opinion its not a good idea. why not wait to have it with someone u intend to be with for the rest of ur life !

Do you seriously think the things that wre socially acceptible back then should still be today? If not why go by the socially accepted sexual behavior of that time?

Keep in mind when that book was written women were reguarded as little more then slaves! Would you want to practice to be in effect today just because that is how it was back then? Or how about slavery. It was perfectly acceptible back then!

biblically speaking, according to the books of laws ie. first 5 books in the bible yes, but you must compensate the father financially for doing so. You must remember daughters are property according to the bible.

It is VERY clear in the bible that you are supposed to wait till after marriage it even talks about keeping your mind pure of sexual thoughts till after! I know that is extremely hard but I think waiting does make it special and it makes you appreciate that persons body more. I wish sex wasn't cheapened and so selfish these days.

No. You cannot have sex until you are married under any circumstances.

1 Corinthians 6:18 - Run away from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.

Colossians 3:5 - So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual sin, impurity, lust, and shameful desires. Don't be greedy for the good things of this life, for that is idolatry.

As one of the other guys put it, you know the answer. Why kidd yourself about it? Do you think it would be any less of a sin if 500 people came on here and told you they think it's ok? Would that change God's Word if they did?

NO! Bible does not even permit dates! Do you know that a soon-to-be-groom is only allowed to see the soon-to-be-bride during the wedding? And do you know that the parents are the one responsible for selecting who will be married to who? Why like it?

Well, the bible teaches complete obedience of children to their parents. Now, it is the parents who obey to their children's decision on who to date or who to marry! And the sad thing is - they all claim to be christians...

Peace...
