Purple M&M?

Question

What happened to the purple M&M? They had that big contest to see what color of new M&M should be made (aqua,pink,purple) and purple won, but the don't make purple ones in this day.???? I need the full story!

blue won the first vote in 1995 but there was another vote in 2002 in which purple won, here is the story.

edit: they told me blue was the newest color, and so i sent back an e-mail with the above CNN website link. I hope you extend this question because now i really want to solve this! I'll let you know if I hear back.

In 1995—over a half-century after the candies were first introduced—consumers across America helped write a new chapter in the history of M&M'S® Brand. A "mega" marketing event asked Americans to vote for a new color to appear in the traditional M&M'S® Chocolate Candies color mix. Their choices included blue, pink and purple—or no change. Blue won by a landslide, with 54% of the more than 10 million votes cast. Also in 1995, M&M'S® Chocolate Mini Baking Bits were introduced, adding colorful chocolate fun to the world of baking.
