That is an incredibly general question! You cant really stereotype that all stepfathers molest their stepdaughters. I have had a step father for 13 years and he is a wonderful man.
Why do people molest people? Because they are chemically imbalanced and sick. Putting themselves in the position of an authority figure makes them feel like they have more power over a person, especially if they are well trusted by the parent of the child.
If you know someone in this position they should speak to a school councellor or teacher they trust as they can get help and get out of the terrible situation.

Not all, and hopefully not even most stepfathers would do something like this. The ones that do are in some way unbalanced, or they want to try and show power over what they now believe is their property. If you know someone who is being molested, no matter who it is that's doing it, that person needs to be reported immediately. you can do so anonymously, contact your local Police Department or health department, or just tell an adult that you trust.

You should not ask such a question. It should be worded-Why would anyone molest their daughter? Or why would a stepfather molest his daughter? You obviously had a bad experience or heard about something bad with a stepfather. My husband would never touch my daughter.

Well if you are talking about a situation dealing with you then I suggest you go to the authorities some adult you can trust or a close relative. Because this is not normal and very illegal.

To be honest I can't answer something so perverse (because this is just too horrible to think about) if you just want an opinion .

most of the time their excuse is "oh my god i must of been sleepwalking and i had a dream i was having sex with my wife" thats what i hear most of the time.. ofcourse they are lieing tho
