If I ask God a question, my own inner voice will respond. What do people mean when they say, "I had a conversation with God?" Moses had a conversation with God, but for some reason God doesn't seem to have conversations with humans anymore. Am I supposed to treat the Bible like it is some magic book that will respond, "Yes, you're supposed to marry _______, Jerry?" I mean, if I could speak with God, I wouldn't post questions on this discussion board to be answered by infallible human beings; rather, I would ask God who is omniscient.

I've heard pastors say stuff like, "God told me to move to ATL." How come God has never told me anything?

I converse with God everytime I pray. When people say they had a conversation with God it means that they prayed.

God does still converse with man, through inspiration and His living prophet. Everyone is entitled to their own personal revelation.
The problem is that when God talks, people don't listen. God always answers our prayers, however sometimes the answer is NO. You have to be still and quiet to hear God. He has a still, small, voice.
That inner voice is God talking to you.
Take time out to stop and smell the roses or watch the sunset, or sunrise or anything else in the natural world. He lives and He talks to us.
However, you have to initiate it.

To be honest, I have never actually had a conversation with Him. I mean, when I ask God something, sometimes I get something deep down inside of mean that I know is from God because I never would have thought of it myself. Not to say that God can't talk to you because I believe He can.

well, there was this woman in Ontario who saw Jesus, and they filmed her talking to him, even though no one else could see who she was talking to. When they made a still of her and magnified her eye, they could make out the figure of a man there. Co-incidence? I think not. People still talk to God. And God talks back.

Personally, have I ever conversed with God Himself? When I met God (once), He was a sparkly tower of light. He did not talk, but I knew what He was saying. It was kind of weird. Although, it was more like a picture that came to my mind rather than me actually being in the Throne Room of God. However, the picture and the experience has not left my mind.

Usually, God speaks through your conscience, or brings something to your mind frequently. This can mean that he wants to tell you something. The Bible is not "some magic book that will respond"; you need to look through it and God will draw you to what he wants to tell you. Once, though, God did speak to me. It wasn't audible, but I was feeling pretty bad about something and he reassured me that he loved me.

When I was in my teens and 20s, I was very active in church. Never missed Youth Fellowship, Young Adults, Church Service. God was so real to me. Everytime I prayed, my prayers were ALWAYS answered. That's when you realise God speaks to you. Eventually I married a non-christian man and I strayed away from God and His commandments. None of my prayers were answered. SIN separates us from God.

God does speak to people today in a audible voice they can hear. It does not happen all the time. But, God speaks to me in a clear, soft, voice at times. At other times, it is clear just like a person talking to me. Also, you have to understand that there are angels with us everyday and they will speak to us what God wants us to hear. Sometimes, God is waiting for you to seek after Him by faith and He will speak clearly to you. In addition, sometimes God speaks to us audibly, but because of where we are spiritually, we can not discern His voice. The Lord may have spoke to you, but you have not trained your spirit to hear His voice. The Lord is not a God of far away. He desires and loves to speak to His people. He desires this type of intimacy, but we have to learn His ways and His voice.

"Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and the rest will be added to you"

"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will grant you the desires of your heart"

"For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."

God speaks to us through His Word, the Bible. We do NOT hear and audible voice from Heaven!
We speak to God through prayer. God hears the prayers of His children, those who have called upon he name of the Lord Jesus for salvation.

I always talk to God and I never hear from Him too, so one night (this was couple nights ago) I decided to quit the usual prayer (bless this, forgive me, bless that) and start debating with Him. I haven't heard from Him yet but I am learning more by the new prayers.

GOD STILL SPEAKS TO US!! WE DON'T ALWAYS STOP TO LISTEN TO WHAT HE HAS TO SAY. TALKING TO GOD IS ONE THING, BUT THERE ARE OTHER STEPS TO TAKE TO RECEIVE WORDS FROM GOD....WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU REPENTED FOR YOUR SINS, HAVE YOU ACCEPTED JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR, ARE YOU WILLING TO FORGIVE ALL THAT HAS/IS AGAINST YOU, DO YOU HAVE FAITH THAT HE HAS ALREADY ANSWERED YOU? I TALK TO GOD EVERY DAY AND HE DOES NOT ALWAYS GIVE US THE ANSWER WE WANT, BUT IF THE ANSWER GOES AGAINST HIS WRITTEN WORD, THEN IT IS YOUR OWN THINKING. I MYSELF HAVE ONLY JUST BEGUN PRAYING, TALKING, AND PRAISING GOD IN THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS, SO KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!! AND ALWAYS REMEMBER TO ASK THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME!!! GOD BLESS!!!!

God doesn't speak in an audible voice. He speaks through people, circumstances, and His word.
