I'm trying to find the best religion for me, so can you please tell me what your religion is and give a short description of your beliefs.

You sound like avery nice person. i am a Christian. I believe that there is God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. I believe the god made the world in six days and on the seventh day he rested. I believe that Jesus Christ was the messiah and the Son of the Most High God. That Jesus came to this earth and walked among us. He preached that the only way to the Father is through Him. Jesus was killed by the Roman soldiers when He did nothing wrong. Then on the third day He rose from the dead in victory. After He rose from the dead after forty days, He rose up into the sky and a angel appeared to the people watching Him go and said He will return again. Revelations in the Bible has many prophecies for when Jesus will return and almost all have come true. For instance, the war in Iraq goes with the prophecy that says there will be many wars and rumors of wars. The end times is now. Many will stray , said in the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God. I am a Muslim (Former Catholic)

We believe in the Prophets, Adam through Muhammad and that they were chosen to deliver God's message. The final Prophet Mohammad in clear detail delivered isntructions on how to carry out God's wishes.

I strongly suggest that you research Islam. Get a Koran but also visit a Mosque andask lots of questions.

I found Islam while trying to make sense of the discrepancies between what was being preached to me and what was in the bible.

I was without any religious affiliations, but beleived in God's existence and believed that Bible held a lot of ground. Now that I understand Islam I better understand Christianity. Soem people will say it is a rehash of Christianity, some say that it is evil, none of this is remotely close.

I entered Islam in wonder and amazement

An atheist could ask why does God not prove his existence, and the Qur'an would through numerous miraculous scientific descriptions.

Atheism, its not really a religion just a lack of one. You should believe in science, just think of all the modern advances (cars, electricity, modern medicine, computers, DNA, genetics, fiber optics, machinery, ect....) it all came from science and logic. don't be fool by religion! Don't get me wrong religion is good if you look at it from a philosophical point of view but no ancient book can tell you the real reason why we are here. all most religion is a way for people of the past to describe how they thought the world worked! Now we know how it works (well not completely but we are on our way!) and we need more open minded people in this world.

I have my own personal religion. I don't know whether there is one god or many, but I don't pray to any of the possible ones. I think a god (if they exist, which they probably do) gets his power from his true believers, and that no matter what you call your god, you are actually worshipping the actions you feel are the most important. For example, I think the Christians who worship God are really worshipping 2 different gods; there are those who worship the peace Jesus brought (peaceful god), and those that worship him out of fear (Old testament god). I think that most gods really don't care what I think or if I worship them, that they are going to do their thing regardless. I think asking for things of a god is basically inviting trouble (I base this on experience). I think organized religion is a bad thing generally, because once it exceeds a certain number of people, it stops being about the beliefs and starts being about the power those in charge of hte religion have (see catholic church and crusades). I think everything that lives can feel pain (including plants), and that I shouldn't cause anything pain unnecessarily. I don't kill anything unless it threatens me or i'm going to eat it (wasps I only kill if they persist in flying at me, for example; I'm very allergic). I don't push my religion on others, but I'll discuss it if asked. I believe that science explains a lot of things, but that we cannot eliminate the possibility of a god or gods because we don't know everything yet. And, what I think is most important, is that a religion is a private thing between a person and his/her respective god/godess/gods. I think everybody has the right to interpret life in their own way, and that nobody should be forcefully converted. Hope that's clear enough; it's the simplest I could put it.

I'm a Catholic.... But if I could choose all over... I'd totally go Jedi.

You can move things with your mind, and control people's thoughts... You could sense stuff...

And lightsabers are trés cool.

Interestingly, jedi is now an official religion in many countries, cos if a certain proportion of a population in a national census writes down a certain religion as their religion (as people write down jedi as a laugh), that government has to recognise it!!!

I can not convert you...God WILL. Christ stands at the door and knocks....open the door. This is your chance. I do not have time to tell you all the reasons you need to be saved, or what being a christian is about, So I tell you, read the book of Matthew in the Bible, that is the perfect answer to your question. Become a shia Muslim its the only religion that makes sense as of today. The religion of Islam (Shia) they believe and respect all other religions i haven't found that in any other religions like that of Islam. I believe in all three books of God, the Torah,Bible and Koran.
