ok i have a little boy and i can barly find any clothing that does not look "thug" or something along those lines unless i want to pay 50 dollars a shirt for a toddler. yet i see all these very nice little girl dresses and shoes. Does anyone else feel as if this is unfair to the mothers of little boys? (i like my little boy looking clean cut)

I don't have boys, I have girls. The thing is, I want a little boy eventually so everytime I go clothes shopping, I tend to look at boy things too. Kohl's has an awesome selection for girls AND boys. Their brand Sonoma has really clean cut outfits.

You think it's tough to find stuff for a little boy? Try going to walmart and finding something that is actually school appropriate for girls in size 5-14, especially in summer clothes! All they have is halters and spagetti straps and skirts I would not want to see a grown woman wear let alone my 5 and 6 year olds! Why do these stores sell this crap? I don't know about you guys but I am really very sick of seeing little girls who are dressed like street walkers and little boys who are dressed like their pimps (I thought halloween only came once a year!). When I was at my 6 year old's school yesterday I saw a little boys who was probably about 5 or 6, his ear was PIERCED, and his pants were practically at floor level! And then people wonder why their kids don't behave....

Wow, think I'm the only dad out here. I know what you mean though. You can go to any store at anytime and find aisle upon aisle of girl clothing. When it comes to boys, you find a few discount stands in the aisle and a bin with underwear and socks. The only place I have had any luck was Target. Even there it is limited, but it isn't as trashy. I tend to spend the extra and take them to the GAP, Old Navy, Belk, and Goodys. You have to SEARCH for boys clothes. I won't let my son wear the baggy garbage or some of the horrid shirts and shorts you see. Good luck and keep your eyes open.

Actually right at this moment everything I see for little boys is wayyyy cute compared to when my son (now11) was a little guy. I have a 2 year old little girl now, and I think the boys clothes are cuter.

I find clothes at sears and tj maxx.... ross has some cute stuff too in some stores.
Have fun!

Its hard to find clothes for little boys that parents like but it might be that your shopping at the wrong kinds of stores. Its not fair that it is harder to find clothes that aren't at an overwhelming price and when you do they remind you of a thug. It can be a problem. If the place your shopping at has a comment care then write it down on a comment card. Its hard but it can be just as hard for little girls too. It depends on there size and there age. Have you ever thought your shopping at the wrong kind of store for your child. So give more of a chance before you give up on it.

As a mother of a boy, I agree that there are some boys clothes out there that I won't let my kid wear. But generally I don't have a hard time finding "clean cut" clothes at JC Penney, Macy's, and Gottchalks.

And as mother to a girl, I can tell you there are some very inappropriate girls clothes to pick through as well. I refuse to put my infant in a halter top, belly baring shirt, or other street-walker wear.

Right now is a great time to look for clean cut boy's clothes, there is a lot of stuff out there for Easter, I saw some nice looking boys outfits at Target the other day.

I go to target. Also try baby used clothing stores. You can get a lot of different things that are older so they aren't in with the 'thug' theme. The clothes have to be nice before the store will take them, so you know they are quality. I just got my daughter 2 outfits from baby-gap for $3.50 a piece from the consignment shop.

Kohls would be a good place. I work there and they have really nice decent clothes for toddlers. Also at an affordable price. Clearence is great there. Have you tried old navy? I agree with what the others said about the girls clothing.I notice that the girls clothes look like teenage clothing ( we get them mixed up sometimes). Its really disturbing because when I have kids, I want them to dress like kids. Society is really getting mixed up.

I don't know which Walmart you are shopping at but I see all kinds of little button down shirts, sweater vests and ties at our store. It makes me want to have a little boy. Check out walmart.com. That kind of stuff isn't avalible at every story. Also check used clothing stores like Goodwill and local thrift shops. They have nice stuff. Are you looking for ties and stuff? Little boys are going to be more comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt. They do sell those outfits. Let me know what you find. Good luck.
