I'm not sure what you're looking for so here goes nothing!

So, when the bicep is contracted, it's antagonists (triceps) are inhibited (reciprocal inhibition). When the tricep is contracted, it's antagonists (biceps) are inhibited the same.

Also, proprioceptors in the elbow (union of the ulna, radius, and humerus) are stimulated which give information about the joints position to your body via the cerebellum.

Is this the kind of answer you were looking for?

Contraction = muscle shortening
Your biceps go from the top of the "socket" in your shoulder blade to the top of your forearm. So, when they contract, mostly your elbow bends but the contraction also pulls your arm to reach forward/up at the shoulder (forward flex) and your hand will rotate to face forward/up (supinate).
Your triceps go from the bottom of the shoulder socket to the back of the top of your forearm, so when they contract you will see mostly elbow straightening but also your arm will pull down (extend) at your shoulder if your arm is already raised.
NB If you're only bending or straightening at the elbow and not moving at the shoulder or hand, your biceps/triceps are still contracting, but other muscles are active to prevent the shoulder and/or hand movements that the muscles also do.

Your arm bends and extends. Biceps bend your arm...triceps extend your arm.
