My sister is getting married on Sunday and she and us (the bridesmaids) are concerned about bloating etc! Any ideas on what we should eat the night before and day of the wedding? Are there any traditions in this regard?

You should all take a good walk together, even if it is at the mall. Then all have a salad together, a glass of Chardonnay and talk about the wedding and what life has in store for you!

It takes your body about 2 days to process/absorb a meal as far as bloating and weight concerns go. But, you certainly don't want to take any chances as far as comfort, so I would say stick with foods that are more on the bland side. Grilled chicken, small salads with light dressing, yogurt, cereal, etc. Light foods will keep you full but won't cause any stomach alarms at any point (though don't be concerned if you find you have to eat an additional time or have a few extra snacks the day before to stay full). Nothing spicy, greasy, overall heavy, and nothing heavy that is cream-based; stay away from fiber (a major cause of bloating). Maybe consider a small serving of pasta with grilled chicken -- carbs and protein will keep her full and will also help with keeping her metabolism going and her energy levels up. Also make sure she eats a light breakfast that day -- even just a bowl of cereal and some toast or fruit will make the difference in keeping her going. Also take a few snacks that day to give the bride before the ceremony, in between pictures, etc. like peanut butter crackers (nothing that will drip or stain). An anti-gas/anti-bloat pill before the day starts is also a great idea.

Good luck, and have a great party!

Very forward thinking of you! I would avoid carbonated beverages, beans, legumes, broccoli/cauliflower,alcohol in limited quantities, nothing too salty (or you risk bloating up) nothing too greasy or spicy either. Honestly, I wouldn't change up your diet too much from what you usually eat, or you risk stomach upset. Lots of water the whole week before the wedding too, one to flush out excess fluids and salts, and two, just to keep yourself alert and hydrated. The day of the wedding make sure to have something in your stomachs..even if it's just some toast and juice (better to have an egg too though for protein) since empty stomachs can actually make you feel gassy. After the ceremony, chow down and enjoy all the delicious wedding food! No matter how much you eat that day it isn't going to bust you out of your dress. Enjoy!

Stick to salads and protein. No salt, chocolate or excess sugars.

Isn't the rehearsal dinner the night before?? where do you live?

The day of the wedding, have some protein and a little carbohydrates. Like a bagel and a hard boiled egg, then a banana - it's going to be a long day and you want to be nourished.

Many people have a mild chicken dish. I would avoid spicy food including white castles lol
Also maybe taking a anti gas pill the night before the wedding or the morning of the wedding.
Congrats to your sister and have fun.

Eat normally. Unless you pig out on pizza the night before it's unlikely that you will get too bloated to fit into the dress.
You will all feel better if you eat a decent meal and relax as much as possible before the big day.

The night before I would stick to bland foods with very little salt. In fact, I would do so for the whole week, just to be on the safe side.

The night/day before, have salad w/very little dressing and grilled chicken, fruit, yogurt. Drink plenty of water.

I would definately eat chicken or perhaps turkey to calm the nerves. Nothing like ruffage (salad to prevent upset stomach)
