I told a girl I like her and she didn't really say yes or no so nothing happened. A few weeks went by and we eventually started to get a long very well and after spending some time together she tells me she wants to go out sometime. After three or four attempts on my part to schedule a time to get together it still hasn't happened. She still acts all cheery around me if I stop to talk to her but overall I feel ignored. She doesn't really talk to me and never calls.
Why would she tell me she wants to go out if she really doesn't? At this point I'm tempted to ignore her just to see if I get a reaction.

I should also mention that at one point I asked her flat out what she thought of me, and she said she likes me but wants to get to know me better. The problem is that she doesn't act like she really does and it's driving me insane.

a girls emotions are always mysterous and can happen for many different reasons.It sounds like she just wants to be friends
with you don't ever tell a girl that you like her unless yoiu actually considered how she looks what kind of friends she has are they good friends , does she get along with new people. She never calls yoy because her mom probably tells her not to cause your supposed to call dufus---no offense but I call most people dufus. Stay her friend and just look for another good looking and sounding fish in the sea.

Dude, Im in the same boat. Only replace her saying shed like to go out, with her saying shed like to have sex.
But Ive asked her out on dates, like you did, and I got the exact same response.
I havent gone with the ignore route. My policy is I dont give up until I get shut down.
In talking with some female friends the answer I most often get is that girls like for the courtship to be fun.
So my advice is to just keep doing what you were doing in the first place. But dont just waste all your time trying to get her, if theres another hussy on the block, go get it.
Unless of course you think youre in love with this chick, then leave the other tramps alone.

Been there done that. She's playing you because she likes the attention. Most chicks are like that...particularly around the early years. Just move on. It'll drive her crazy. Then when she comes calling, tell her you're already with someone else. Works everytime.

Your best bet is to move on to other girls. She sounds immature and does not really know what she wants. You don't need that drama. So ignore her completely but dont be mean just stay distant but cool and start getting to know some other girls. Good Luck

No. of coures shes not being manipulative! what shes doing has nothing to do with controlling you.
I think she likes you and i think that she appreciates how you asked her many times, she feels flattered. many girls like boys chasing them like that, its cute =]
you should say that you want to ask her out again but hope that you are not annoying her. i bet that she will say you are not annoying and she will go with you.
make sure she really knows you like her more than a friend and that you are really asking her out as in a date
