i just ran my fastest mile in a track meet, and i was feelin this cavity in my back molar and i chipped off a pin head sized chunk of the tooth. now the cavity is a little larger than a pea, and runs from the side of my tooth to a little bit into the crown.
i want it pulled
there is no way i can afford another crown ontop of my other 4 i just had put in, and it doesnt look like it's going to be the last either.
i'm just turned 18 years old, and i've got a whole lot of college stuff i need to set up cause' it's not cheap, there is no way i can afford to get my teeth fixed up, so im just gonna start yanking them.
im really scared, it seems like no matter what i do my teeth just seem to get worse, i feel completely helpless. i dont want to eat my money but i know it's only going to get worse . im getting really fed up with this. ever since i've been young i've been told i need to brush and floss more, and i do. it's not enough :-\

Please help me

I am sorry to say, you'll need to see someone. You need to borrow money or see a dentist who will do the work pro bono, You cannot ignore this. Explain your situation and perhaps they can direct you to someone who will work on you for alot less. It won't hurt to ask. Please don't let this go......it's not healthy. You'll find someone. Get it fixed before it gets worse and you lose more or your gums get damaged too or you'll need a rot canal . Good Luck !

Sounds like you need a good dentist. Some people unfortunatly have worse teeth than others simply due to genetics. Others may have been given certain types of medicine when they were young which could have damaged your teeth when they were still developing. Either way, you need a good dentist to help you figure out how to get the problem under control before it is completely out of control. You're doing a good thing by brushing (twice a day minimum I hope) and flossing (at least once a day, I hope). Keep it up! And if you don't have dental insurance, get some!
BTW, congrats on the run!

don't yank your own teeth out. its not the same as when you were a kid. You can bleed horribly and you'll be in so much pain you wont be able to move. you need to go to a dentist... immediately b4 the problem worsens... it wont be much but this is something that is more important then school... your health. take care of yourself first. you should still be on your gardians health insurance anyway until your 21 depending on the plan and state u live in.

Talk to the dentist about what seems to be causing this. Could it be from eating sugar or drinking sodas? This can melt teeth pretty fast, as you seem too young to have any other cause.

Please get it treated. You will be glad you did.

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE MILE!!!
ONE IMPORTANT THING TO REALIZE IS THAT ONCE THIS TOOTH IS EXTRACTED IT WILL EVENTUALLY NEED TO BE REPLACED BY AN IMPLANT OR A BRIDGE THAT WILL BE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN JUST A CROWN.
YOU MAY OPT FOR A BUILDUP ON THIS TOOTH WITH A CROWN TO BE DONE AT A LATER TIME -- WHEN YOU'RE READY TO AFFORD ONE. WITH A BUILDUP THE TOOTH WILL REMAIN STABLE UNTIL YOU'RE READY FOR THE CROWN.

Whatever you do, DO NOT, DOO NOT! Pull your permanent teeth yourself. That's dangerous because of the roots down in there. If it's really a problem you need to go to a dentist.

Check around for free dental clinics, some of them charge according to your income. You might call the health department and ask them for help or if they know of a free clinic.
