you should start lifting weights when your done with puberty cuz your hormones will mess up. don't lift too much weight cuz if one day you stop your muscle will take in more fat. and you will have a big fat belly.

Well generally, for younger people, it is a good idea to start out at just the bar weight (which was 45 lbs for me). You may want to start at less considering the type of body you're aiming for. You should keep at that weight until you can do 3 sets of 10 repetitions, and then increase by 5 lbs, etc. Keep in mind that for younger lifters, lifting weights does stunt growth somewhat.

Measha,

It is very difficult to give you an answer because there are so many variables such as your strength level, overall health, experience working out etc...
But here is a rule of thumb..... start with a weight that you can do 12 or so repititions of (should have to work reasonable hard on the last few). Once you have gotten to a level where you can do 12 without any real sweat ... move up in small increments (5 lbs).
Use dumbells to begin with... they allow you workout all of your upper body and pose less of a risk that you can hurt yourself in the early going.
Make sure you are healthy enough to begin ANY workout regimen. I recommend working out with an adult the first few times until you get the hang of it... Good Luck

I am not sure about your age, you may want to ask your doctor, or ask your parents to call the "nurse line" if they have one. What ever you do, don't lift them every day. Try every other day to give your muscles a break. This helps them repair themselves and prevents injury. Most people start out with 3 pound dumbbells. Good Luck, but check with your doctor first.

are you serious? it all depends on how much you can lift and what exercise you are doing. you start off at a weight you can manage, and as you get stronger you increase the weight. it isnt complicated.

It all depends on your strenth. Weight, hieght, how many groceries can you carry, there all factors. If you bowl, a good way to get in shape is lift heavier balls.

it just depends on how strong you are and what excersizes your doing. start out light, and if it is too easy then go a step up, you want to work your muscles hard but you dont want to damage them
