Otto is the perfect first date restaurant. It's a Mario Batali restaurant so you cannot go wrong. It's a bustling italian restaurant with a massive wine list. The price is perfectly reasonable. She will think you are a stud. Take her there and thank me later.

Check out the Eatery. I t's called E for short. It's in midtown, I think on 9th ave btw. 52 and 56 street. They have great cocktails and really good food. It's not cheap but it's not too expensive either. I also saw it highlighted on the food network as one of the best innexpensive places to eat in the city. I recommend the kiwi martini (created by their own mixologist) and the mac and cheese. The meatloaf is also great. They do comfort food really well, and with a nice classy twist. I think it would be a great place for a first date.

Maria Pia in the Theatre District has some delicious Italian food. It's cute and a little romantic and since it's in the Theatre District, there is a lot to do and see in the area. They also have a prix fixe dinner for about $22.00 The website is www.mariapianyc.com. Have a great first date!!

Serendipity's on 60th between 2nd and 3rd. It's as romantically whimsical as the movie (Serendipity) that was filmed there. You'll definitely get points and it's a relaxed atmosphere...I guarantee there will be no uncomfortable "first date" silence.

p.s. get the frozen hot chocolate for dessert...one schooner and two straws! ;-)

Good luck!
