You have to run through it, thats the only way the cramping will lessen when you run.

You probably just started running and this is your bodys way of telling you not to start with that many miles. Start with one mil for two weeks then two miles for two weeks and so on until you get to the desired amount of distance. Also when running it feels better to breath in and out every step but that is usually what leads to my cramps so watch out for doing that! Trust me i know how you feel i started running track two months ago and i still get cramps dont worry just take it easy!

Well it depends on either how much food or liquid you are consuming before. Also if you run kind of hunched over then that will also contribute to the cramps. DON'T run to fast keep the pace low enough that you actually can complete the distance. Breath correctly and remember don't drink to much water.

i had that a lot last year (i was a freshman at high school) and just let time pass

your body is probably just getting used to the stress that you are putting in it....

i was really fast in P.E. and decided to do track last year...
running with other people that are as good or better than you makes you feel more tired than usual... just keep running and you'll get used to it

also, drink plenty of water

Consider all the previous replies as possibly valid ones as all seem reasonable. Also start doing more stretches and abdominal exercises before your runs. Experiment with erect posture and controlled deep breathing.

My feeling is if you don't eat before your runs, run erect, and breathe deeply and controlled, you will overcome this.

Good Luck

I found that if you do crunches it helps to loosen and stretch your abdominal muscles. Also, keep hydrated and and run upright!

Stay away from carbonated drinks and chocolate. See what happens after one week.
