My thoughts on opinions on the net is that they are useful, but only as guidelines. It's sometimes nice to use a bunch of total strangers as a sounding board. Honesty - sometimes brutal - has it's uses, if you can filter out the obvious trash remarks.
I agree that words tend to be my last choice. There aren't many ways you can interpret a given word, but an image conveys so much more. It also has the advantage of being flexible in it's interpretation over time, even if it has a classical meaning.

I have so many tattoos I've lost count. I can tell you from my experience that letters tend to fade away much faster than something like the capricorn you want. Having said that, I'd go with the capricorn. Also, you're right. A capricorn with writing would not look good on a small area such as the back of your neck.

I like the dream or peace idea, I'm thinking about getting a pisces tattoo done but I'm holding out on that one because it's so over done. The dream idea is more original and an artist may be able to find you a symbol that you haven't been able to find on your own.

I think if you get a tattoo get the symbols of dream or peace. But not the traditional symbol of peace or dream but something that is not like any other. They should have pictures there for you to choose. Good Luck on your decision!!!

The best opinion you can get,
on size, design, or placement,
is from the artist you choose
to do the work.
Think Before You Ink.

sometimes all of the ideas we want for tattoos just won't mesh well with one another so the best option is to get multiple tattoos. that way you can get everything you want and you won't have to worry about whether you should have gotten the other one instead.
