I know it’s stupid to be asking but I was just curious. We were both each others first loves and we broke up about two months ago. We mainly broke up because he didn’t want to be with me anymore and I was going through a small sort of depression that he didn’t know about. We were together for about four months. He no longer talks or looks at me even though I see him every day. We have the same friends and they said he hasn’t talked about me since we broke up. You can tell me that there is no hope and that I’m a loser for hanging on if that’s what you think. I just wanted some ideas. And maybe some advice on how I should get over him if there is no hope. I know if we do get back together it will be his decision and I can’t do anything to affect it. I know bringing up the past relationship right now would be a bad idea.

I have done nothing but tried to be his friend, in a normal way, for the past month. I’ll occasionally say hi to him or ask him a question but that’s about it. Especially because he normally doesn’t respond. Also he doesn’t go to the same school clubs we use to go to unless he knows I’m not going to be there. I don’t know if that’s just a coincidence or what… but yeah.

When I went through a very similar situation two years ago, I felt the exact same way that you do! I learned over a lot of time and a lot of heartbreak that the best thing to do is to not talk to your ex, even though its really hard to do that. Surround yourself with your girlfriends, go out and have a great time. Don't go out looking for love, a relationship, or anything. Because the best things come when you dont expect them! Obviously this guy has done something stupid by letting you go! You'll find someone who appreciates you for who you are someday, but you've got to date a lot of "duds" to get to the "stud" haha sounds way cheezy but its so true. You'll be fine, you'll look back on this someday and laugh about it. Good luck!! (and you arent dumb for feeling that way. its sooo completely normal.)
