No man will admit that he is a coward at first, so they join the military to show how tough he is. Then during the training, the realization sit in and the man must come to terms with his cowardice.
Since cowards rarely admit their state of being, they try to divert the attention from their shortcoming to that of anything else.
None of these people were drafted. They joined of their own free will. It is only later that they realize what they really are:
COWARDS!

NO!
The point of joining the military is TO UPHOLD AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Its not to fight because someone says so.
This war was begin with deceit and continues withcovered evidence thats more and more being discovered.
Just as a soldier has the right to disobey all immoral orders, the soldier also has the ability to question the reason behind the current war, when it is clearly evident that its an immoral war we've been led to by this bush administration.
How dare YOU question the inttegrity and patriotism of our soldiers who joined to defend our Consititution when Our current president didnt have the same patriotism and settled for sidestepping a true deployment when his time came to serve in vietnam.
Yet this president is asking our men and women to do what he couldnt
http://www.realchange.org/bushjr.htm#vietnam
Was he a screw up, a peace activist -- I say he was a coward
And HOW DARE YOU say these people havent earned the freedom to speak out when they are the ones on the front lins fighting for our freedom of speech
Former soldier here, and Ive earned the right to say whatever I want to about this government
All the Way!
P.S. Someone down there 2 below me said some joined for the wrong reasons and most accept the presidents way.
Bull S**T
The truth is when your in the box, the gloves are off.
You dont care about the politics, you care about coming home.
You dont gfight for the politicians that sent you to this war..in which case bush who couldnt stand the front lines himself.
you fight for the guys next to you.
And in the military -- if theres ever a camera around -- you are ordered what you can and cant say to the camera!!!
o it looks like they choose which would set the best example.
If you dont know that -- you havent been in the military -- and you dont know what youre talking about

Some - because they joined for college money. Some - cause they never thought we'd go to war again (I've actually HEARD this said by a troop).

Because many joined on when there was no real threat of war, and it was an easy way for them to suck some money or free training out of Uncle Sam for very little in return. Once Uncle Sam started asking for a little sacrifice back they, like a bunch of football players, wanted to renegotiate their contracts.

Because there are those people that always have to protest whatever the government is doing and since this war is not too popular that is just lighting the fire under the tree.

Because they see it's not like playing video games all day.........Sure it's the point....But when you see it , feel it, and taste it the reality is different....I am a Marine and served , I will always be a Marine.....But the realities are indescribable...
The heart pounding, adreneline filled sense of war and a firefight are something else......The yelling, fear ,running blood, death, and fear of the unknown are too much....You are stressed all day long, thats the truth. You don't know who the enemy is, WWII had uniforms and emblems as targets....Now ? .....Sure you volunteer because thats what w are called to do......But I'll tell you that you are never the same after you experience it.......

those few people don't speak for all service-members, those are people who joined for the wrong reasons.
Most of our military members beleive in what they are fighting for, and they support our president.
Don't let those few people fool you, they DO NOT speak for all of our military members.
