I have been friends with this guy and we have a lot of fun together...recently he has been distant. So, i did not return his calls for about a week. Then he started to call me seven to eight times in one day. Any advice?

I'm not saying this is happening,but I tend to back away when my feelings become strong and need time to access what they are.Love or lust or infatuation or whatever.I want to be fair and honest with her on how I feel.

Most guys love a chase. If you constantly contact him and he never has a chance to miss you then most guys will become distant because they take your presence for granted.
Most likely, once you stopped answering his calls (I'm so proud of you for that!) then he missed you and started "chasing" again.
Or, since you said friend and not boyfriend, he may have just been concerned you were not his friend anymore or mad at him.
But if you like him as more than that then, if he likes a chase give him one, don't play games but dont always be available to him either.
That way he appreciates the time you do give him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I think of what you say, I would think that this guy likes you but doesn't think he has a chance with you, but then for some reason he's decided to try again and started calling you more.

Women do that too - it's not just a guy thing. I think people get alarmed or stressed by how they feel so they back off - but it's selfish and hurtful to do that to someone else - more decent or mature people DONT back off when things get dicey - and that's they key to making a relationship work.

Maybe he felt that you to needed to be away for a while because he has feelings for you?
