reducing body fat is the same for all regardless of the age. you basically have to "trick" the body into releasing fat stores for use as energy.

fatty acids in fat cells are mobilized and converted into ATP for use as energy in the muscle cell. this is accomplished by providing the body with sufficient nutrients/calories for the basal metabolic functions and for the level of daily activity.

the diet should be comprised of mainly whole foods, they have not been processed and are still in the natural state. whole foods provide the most amounts of nutrients with the smallest amount of calories.

check the website below to see how many calories you need daily, then reduce that number by 500 for weight loss:

You said taht you weigh 150 and you are 5' 6", which is just under normal, and you'd like to lose MORE weight? If you're already under the normal weight average, then losing even MORE weight could lead to anorexia! Do NOT become anorexic!!!! Instead, just eat HEALTHILY, excercise for at least and hour a day, make sure your body is getting all the right nutrients, and wear clothing that hides your weight, without making you look bigger than you are (e.g. don't wear baggy clothing). Dark clothing has a slimming affect, and make sure you don't wear any tight fitting clothing.

Green tea is also good. It keeps your metabolism going, which burns fat, and it has many other qualities that are good for your health, such as reducing your chances of getting certain types of cancer, antioxidants, and tohers. If you do a little research such as a simple google search I'm sure you'll find all of the information you could possibly want.

Hope this helps.

Good abs are made in the kitchen. Monitor your diet, eat frequent meals, about 300 calories per meal/ 5X a day. Cut the simple sugars, like candy, cookies, cakes, pizza, etc. When you exercise make sure that your heart rate is hitting a target range and staying there for 20-45 minutes. Riding a bike has a lot of coasting involved and that brings your heart rate down. Find a target heart rate calculator on google to find where you need to be. Good luck!

P.S. so glad to hear that you want to lose body fat and not just weight. The difference between the two is huge. You will be a happier person for losing fat. Try the accu-measure calipers to monitor your progress.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
