Yes. She was the sweetest little girl. Her dad is a MD and he could not save her. The guys in the other car walked away without a scratch.
Her funeral was packed and so sad.
Her mom helped to set up the MADD in our state & was the president of our state chapter for a number of years.

I know someone, a neighbor of mine who I used to be friends with long ago, who was drunk himself and had a car accident. He was only 17 or 18, and was paralyzed from the waist down. He's been in a wheelchair for 2 years, after extensive therapy, and has yet to take a step on his own.

I know 2 people that died. They pulled onto the shoulder of the road after a minor accident to inspect rear end dammage to their car. John was sitting on the trunk of the car, and Mark was checking the damage. A drunk driver sped into them. Mark was killed instantly, John lost a leg, and recieved trauma to his head and couldnt breathe on his own. After a few weeks, when it was clear he wasn't going to get any better, his parents stopped the life support .;_;

I know a guy that was a drunk driver that killed somebody on a motorcycle. The next day he was complaining that somebody puked on his truck when it was human flesh.
He did four years in prison. He got off easy if you ask me.

I have gotten to know them through their autopsy photos, meeting with the forensic experts, through their mother, father, aunt, girlfriend, through their Christmas photos, and through their poetry and writings, but I haven't met a living one yet.
