point blank she is getting on my nerves! i dont think it's fair for men to always pay for things like this, because now a days you can't trust no one. but she told me she had sex with 2 other dudes during the time but im the only one that treated her nice...come on thats a bunch of bull and she know if i think/know it's not my child why do i have to pay? why can't she? ain't she trying to prove something too? and now i have old papers that i got from my old address before the storm katrina-this people trying to put me on child support for a fact thats not proven and that is so wrong. so if i have to pay and i think/know it's not mine why she can't pay to prove that it is mine? if thats the case why don't the social services make both parties pay half thats the right thing to do if you ask me! so if any body have a answer or advice please contact me thank you and enjoy the rest of your day/evening/night?

Hi, I live near New Orleans (Mandeville) and I know that when you go to (our) city hall to get the papers to file for child support, if there is a dispute over paternity they will do a DNA (cotton swab in the mouth) for $25, I just helped a friend do this. Call your city hall and see if this is an option for you.

You shouldn't have to pay, medicaid or social services should pay and then they will recoup the costs from the dad. A blood test may not tell you if you are the father, it will just tell you if it is a possibility. You need to know the blood types of the other fathers and then its still may tell you that any of you could be. There should be paperwork for you to file with family court that contests her claim that you are the father.

I lived in New Orleans up until recently and I know the courts will petition a paternity test if she files for child support and is on some kind of government assistance(medicaid, food stamps, etc.). Work with the DA and it will not cost you anything except time!

unless you signed the birth certificate, you would have to get a blood test done in order for the court to order you to pay child support. i agree with you that it is wrong that the man have to pay for it, but i don't think that you have to pay for it all buy yourself. contact the court and tell them the situation. they can lead you in the right direction.
