As per the first poster - go organic. I use a tea tree oil cleanser from Trader Joe's (less than $6), and then tone with organic red apple cider vinegar (about $2 from the health food store). Last, I use a tiny, tiny bit of jojoba oil (also about $2) as a moisturizer (which you still need, even though you have acne. The tea tree oil is the best cleanser, and helps tone down the acne: the vinegar restores the pH balance of your skin, and also contains salicylic acid (all of which knocks acne out). You need to moisturize because if your skin gets too dry the sebaceous glands produce more oil, and more oil equals more acne.
About once a week or every two weeks, use a MILD abrasive to exfoliate your skin. I use used coffee grounds. Be careful if you use the popular 'apricot scrub': the 'pieces' in it are too big and rough and can tear your pores, making your situation worse. Always be gentle when you exfoliate.
I've been using the beauty routine for a year and have finally, finally gotten rid of my acne. My skin is glowing and has never looked better. Paying all of that money for the fancy stuff is a waste of money and time.

You need a pure, safe, and beneficial product. What many people aren't aware of is most soaps and cleansers on the market contain mineral oil, the molecular structure of which is too large to penetrate into the pores of our skin so it sits on the top layer like saran wrap. This causes dirt and debris to collect on our face, thus causing our skin problems. They also contain harmful ingredients such as alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, etc which strip your skins acid mantel (its protective layer) and causes irritation and dryness. You don't want to DRY out your face because your skin will try to overcompensate by producing more oil. Try Arbonne. It's a Swiss company that is regulated by the FDA and formulates their products without the ingredients listed above. Their products are botanically based and beneficial for all skin types. Arbonne has a great acne line where people have seen amazing results! They also have a great dietary supplement to support skin from the inside out targeting troubled skin with vitamins, minerals and L-Lysine, an amino acid. I would be happy to help you and show you how your can purchase the products at a 35% discount if you're open to giving it a try. Take a look at some of the before and after pictures. Good luck.

Wash your face every night before bed. Use a plain, unscented, unfancy soap. I use Cedaphil (it is great) and I rinse with cold water which seems to make a difference as it keeps the pours closed. If I rinse with warm or hot water, I will have break-outs the next morning. Don't scrub real hard or over wash and get into a routine of washing then putting a moisturizer on before bed. Again, I use the old Pond's cold cream. It does not irritate and it is clean, plain.

The cause of acne is when your pores are clogged, so make sure to wash your face twice a day. You can even buy special acne soap to use. I use an astringent, which helps to remove acne, also. I don't use any name-brand acne stuff, and it works just as good. So just because it sounds fancy doesn't mean it's necessarily better.

Your face may be having an adverse reaction to what you are using. First, in the morning when you are in the shower, use noxema. Your pores will be open while you are in a hot shower. Leave it on for 1-2 minutes, but wash it off quicker if it starts to burn. At night, use a facial cleanser and pat dry. Your skin should start to clear up in a couple weeks.

I use this stuff called "Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask". It's like $3 at Longs Drugs...or Wal Mart / Target...whatever is in your area. Any store like that. Also try by Queen Helene "Grape Seed Peel off Mask". Those are once-a-week treatments. Then use St. Ives Apricot scrub in the shower every days...it exfoliates and leaves blemishes smooth.

"Nature's Cure®" worked for me. No doubt about it. You can pick it up at any Walmart™. I usually clean out their selection whenever they get anything in. They also have a great eye makeup.
