I have been to both The Melting Pot and Forever Fondue. I think they each have good points. The Melting Pot definately has more choices on the menu and the interior of the restaurant is a little nicer. But when it comes down to how the food tastes, they are about the same. If you do go to Forever Fondue, I like the one in La Jolla better because of the upstairs view (if you eat outside) and after dinner, you can walk around and do other things.

Forever Fondue would be my choice, both for location and service - great quality, too. The Melting Pot does offer more variety, but when I go to eat out location and service rank over variety, providing the quality of the food is still outstanding. I'm a tough sell, but a loyal customer once sold (and a very good tipper, too).

I have been to Forever Fondue 3 times, and it is very cool.
A little pricey, but definitely worth it if you're going there for a special occasion.

I've been to the Melting Pot in Pasadena. It's very romantic for 2 people. Enjoy the food, wine and each other.
