I just caught my cat licking clean rolls of T.P.. I had brought home a fresh pack and set it in the bathroom, well we had taken one out which left one exposed. My cat goes sneaking by me and starts licking it, like putting a hole in the roll!!! It was odd! Now she sits by the bathroom door (cause we keep it shut she also like to drink out of the toliet) and crys and crys cause she want more T.P.! Anyone ever hear of this?

I think only your cat can answer that question.

Funny that you ask this...I don't have a cat but our dog likes to eat all kinds of paper products. She likes to chew empty toilet rolls, as well as t.p. She also likes to eat kleenex right out of the box. We have to keep these things high out of reach or she will get it. I am not sure why though.

Could be texture, or boredom, or could be she's lacking something in her diet. My cat used to lick bricks and rusty metal. Try changing (slowly) to a different brand of cat food, one with more fiber. Or bring in some fresh clean grass for her to chew on. (If she ignores it, toss on some catnip.)
And when she cries, move her to a different room. When she stays thirty seconds, without trying to go back, reward her with gentle praise and petting, maybe a treat. Ignore her crying if you can't move her at the time. Whatever you do, don't punish her for crying. Cats respond with fear to punishment, and don't get the cause-and-effect principle.
Good luck!

Well, I have my own toilet paper problem. My cats don't lick it , but they sure like to play with it and get pieces all over the house. We have to make sure the bathroom door is closed at all times, or else I'll be cleaning up after them constantly. They don't sit by the door, but as soon as it is opened they scoot right in... Must be something about toilet paper...

I had a problem breaking one of my cats from drinking out of the toilet until I figured out he doesn't like the taste of plastic. I got him some glasses just for him and trained myself the leave the toilet lid down.

As for licking TP yuck. I've never heard of this. My cat just unrolled it so I stopped putting on the roll.

the texture of certain things feels good on the cats teeth and gums thats why they do it... my cat loves biting plastic and cardboard...and the only reason cats cry is cause they want attention if theyre doin somethin odd or gross u stop em .. remember ur in control.. everytime u give in to a cat... she knows shes got u wrapped around her .. well paw lol.. so set some boundaries !for the cat !:)

It isn't good to let her have the toilet paper. Don't give in to her cry's. As for the toilet get a big white porcelain bowl and put her drinking water in that. It worked with my cat.Keep the lid down on the tollet.

Hi! it seems that they like the perfume on such things, try to place some aromatic flowers somewhere and you will see how they like them, I have pictures of my cat enjoying the perfume of natural flowers.

She probably likes the texture of it. My cat licks toilet paper, too, as well as plastic bags.

i havent heard of this, i have 3 cats and they all drink out of the toilet, even though they always have fresh water. and they love plastic bags, they crawl in them, and one of my cats wants to be brushed everyday..im assuming they like the feel on their tongues.
