on the application for Extreme Makeover Home Edition there is a question about being involved in any lawsuits, I've had a couple of suits that I've brought against other that were settled out of court as well as 1 that has been brought against me that I was able to settle out of court. 1 other that went to court and a judgement that against that I have slowly paid off, but the last one happened over 10 years ago. How detailed should someone get in answering the question? It's a very grey area type of question that has no time frame... for example... have you been involved in any lawsuits with in the last 10 years? again that was an example. I guess if you put too much thought into the question it could get complicated. I'm afraid that I'll either give too much info and on the other hand I might not give enough... does that make sense?

How about just putting down "Yes, and I never want to go through that again!"

Seriously, I think you should just answer "Yes" and work on making the other answers the best you can. If they want more information, they will ask for it. If they are going to be prejudiced against you for being in a lawsuit, then no amount of explanation is going to help you.

I hope it works out for you!

take the question at face value, if it is specific enough to ask about 5 or 10 years, then only answer for those 5-10 yrs.

Just odnt make it more than what it is.

Detail may not matter that much. This might be a deal breaker for them if any "yes" is the answer. They can probably check for themselves if you become a candidate. It is probably a way of weeding out people.

Just tell the truth. Would you rather them find out because you told them, or because they ran a background check on you?

Good luck! EHM is one of my favorite shows.
