In the US, if you are uninsured and you have to have a big surgery like that, you can apply for reduced billing due to your financial state...this reduces the bill dramatically..Ask when you get admitted.(ask to speak to someone from the billing department)..an appendix is nothing to fool around with...Good luck.

Probably the cost would be less than a person with insurance would pay ... most hospitals really sock it to the person with insurance.

Depends on where you go. If it is an emergency does it really matter? If the appendix explodes it can kill you
