An oracle is actually a person through whom a deity speaks or a shrine in which a deity reveals hidden knowledge to such a person. While an oracle may be a person who possesses great authority, that's not what the word means. A king possesses great authority, but he is not an oracle.

Acts 7:38 - This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
