Yes. In Lawrence County, Indiana you are required to pay, what they call, Probation Dept. User's Fee, which you pay monthly.

What are the fees for?
He may have to pay a monthly monitoring fee for electronic monitoring ... he may be on a payment plan for restitution, fines, and court fees ... he may have to pay an ex spouse or girlfriend for child or spousal support. Yes, it IS possible to be on a monthly plan. Whether he actually is or not, no one can answer.
Contact his probation officer and see if they will tell you.

Depends on where you live. In the county where I have worked as a probation officer, there is a one-time fee.

It depends on how much fines the judge ordered you to pay. He'll tell you a lump sum and then you go to the clerks and make arrangements with them. Or you can decide, if you're working, to just have them garnish like $10 a week from your pay checks so you don't have to down there everyweek thats what my husband did.

He is probably not lieing, hes probably paying his fines and court cost and anything else that the court has ordered him to pay.
Why I know my ex-husband had to pay the probation department after being found quilty for not paying child support so he paid me suppport and them his fines
