Most of us do, even if it was just the camaraderie we miss. I don't miss the red tape & admin mumbo-jumbo, but the brotherhood, I do miss.

My grandfather is a former Marine and he was only in for 4yrs. That is all he talks about, the Corps. It was why I joined the Navy( I am too soft to be a Marine) It is really sad when Marines get medical discharges, it' like a small piece of their soul is missing. Now he volunteers on Marine bases as Santa (He is chubby and has snow white hair and beard) So at least he gets to see other Marines

I am a soldier that had the great Honor of serving and living with the Marines in Afghanistan, now I'm army and you know the rivalry, but these guys were the greatest, i don't feel the same camaraderie about the army, its just not there, there was no brotherhood either for the army guys, I have always said that i wished the army trained us like the Marines because of the brotherhood you all feel towards each other.
And of the things i miss most in my life now, it was the time I served with you guys. ooh rah

My boyfriend was in the Air Force, and yes he misses it. He stays in contact with his buddies and still sees them. He uses military.com to keep up with them and myspace.

are you kidding? Every marine I know never forgets for a second that he was a "Marine". My best friend is an ex marine, he bores the crap out of me about how he won (lost) the war with the cong.Everything he wears has the marine logo on it. Give it a rest already.
