I have that same problem as I want my baby's name to honor my mother, but I don't care for her name. I am using it as the middle name. Another option, my uncle wanted to honor his mother but her name was already used for another grandchild (Me) so he used her maiden name for the middle name. That is quite common. Would your grandpa's last name work as a middle name?

I think that you should use Orland as the middle name whether your are having a boy or a girl. I haven't ever heard that name before and I think it sounds kind of cool.

How about the name Orlando? Or Roland Edgar?

Use it as a middle name. My middle name is Ashmore after my great grandmother...because neither of my parents wanted that to be my first name. My hubby and I both want to eventually have a boy and his name would be Timothy Milford. Milford is my grandfathers name and I want to honor him but I'm not a big fan of his name as a first name. Good luck and congratulations!
